Double Fine’s 80s-hued post-apocalyptic rogue-like, RAD, will probably be heading to Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch (in a squeal of synthesisers little question) on 20th August.
RAD was initially unveiled again in March and is being directed by Lee Petty, who beforehand helmed Double Fine’s bonce-swapping sci-fi platformer Headlander and pleasant Matryoshka-doll-themed journey Stacking.
Petty’s newest forged gamers as a bat-wielding teenager, on a quest to revive life in a “post-post-apocalyptic world, the place humanity has confronted armageddon not as soon as, however twice”. That quest, explains Double Fine, leads gamers by an ever-changing radioactive wasteland generally known as the Fallow, however “the deeper you journey into unknown lands, the extra you’ll expose your self to gnarly toxins which can wreak havoc in your fragile human kind.”
Luckily (or unluckily, relying in your perspective), our teenage protagonist can acquire unusual new talents as these aforementioned toxins do their terrible work.
If any of that has you sufficiently intrigued, Double Fine and writer Bandai Namco will probably be internet hosting a restricted closed beta through Steam forward of the sport’s 20th August launch. Interested events can register their curiosity through the RAD web site.
