We’re getting the primary rumblings of our Season 9 occasion with Polar Peak melting and cracking.
This is a tragic, unhappy day for me. Polar Peak is my all-time favourite spot to land in Fortnite. I land there in solo, duos, squads, area – you title it. It has a ton of loot, sufficient supplies, and a straightforward rotation with a detailed Baller spawn and the brand new floating tower.
I loaded into Fortnite for a number of video games with the brand new patch, landed at Polar Peak as I often do, clapped some fools, and heard a few unusual sounds within the fortress.
I went to the highest to research however I did not see something, so I moved on. My mid-game rotation introduced me again to the bottom of Polar Peak, and I began listening to the noises once more. This time, I may see the place they have been coming from.
The cracks within the iceberg under Polar are increasing and inflicting the bottom of the placement to emit a loud crunch.
The base of Polar Peak is beginning to soften from r/FortNiteBR
The remainder of Polar is melting beneath, as you may see from the picture above.
It seems as if the times of Polar Peak are numbered. Each patch will most likely trigger extra melting till it will definitely collapses as a part of the Season 9 occasion.
We nonetheless have a very long time to go earlier than Season 9 ends, however that is the primary trace of an occasion that we’re getting. Could Polar Peak’s collapse trigger an avalanche that impacts the entire map? Only time will inform.

Update: I’ve since seen these leaked occasion sounds from @HYPEX on Twitter. It appears just like the sound we’re listening to coming from Polar is the primary half of the “Cattus” sounds:
